1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

This is car #4, and I’ll keep this one short as this one only lasted for a month or so in 2007.

I had my MR2 Spyder and my ’97 Trans Am at the time. I have no idea what I was thinking but I came across this 1997 Camaro Z28 6 speed coupe (no t-tops!) at a suspiciously good price and bit without asking many questions – a big mistake and a hard lesson learned.

On the second day I had this car, I talked up the car to a coworker. Peak torque at 2400rpms, slick top coupe and lightest weight config, 30mpg on the freeway with a bulletproof t56 transmission, etc. He wanted to go for a ride, so we got in, and I cranked the car. Car just clicked away and didn’t start. Yeah…

Katherine sold this car along with the Trans Am, both for $2400 total, without my knowledge while I was sleeping at home, and that’s the end of that chapter. I was back to just having my MR2 Spyder, and my itch for a proper V8 continued to grow, setting me up for car #5.  As you can see, I don’t have many pictures of this car, because I didn’t own it very long.
